Using Terminal To Hide Apps in MacOS


Here are some steps to help you hide apps in MacOS via Terminal:

  • Step 1: Choose app you are going to hide.

  • Step 2: Open Terminal app, use the command given below.
    sudo chflags -h hidden "/Applications/[App Name].app"

  • Step 3: Enter admin password when superuser command appear. After doing this action, the app will be hidden from the finder.

  • Step 4: After hiding the app you can still use it through Spotlight

Note: To stop hiding the app, use can follow the above steps, but use this command: sudo chflags -h nohidden "/Applications/[App Name].app"
