Method to Use Activity Monitor to View GPU Usage in your MacOS


Procedures to check GPU Usage using Activity Monitor:

  • Step 1: Launching Activity Monitor (Find it through opening Allications and then Utilities; or search with Spotlight)
  • Step 2: After opening the Activity Monitor, select Window, then choose GPU History. Alternatively, you can also use the shortcut Command-4 in the keyboard.

  • Step 3: By doing this step, GPU History window will be opened. This GPU History window will show you utilization history for each GPU that is available to your Mac.

  • Step 4: To place the GPU History on top from the Menu Bar, you can: Select Window then choose Keep CPU Windows on Top (as shown in the following picture)

Note: You can also press Command-2 to view current CPU usage and Command-3 to view CPU usage history
