Instruction to turn off System Integrity Protection (SIP) from MacOS

From MacOS 10.11, Apple has integrated System Integrity Protection (SIP) into the MacOS to improve security and restrict access to system files of some 3rd party applications. This causes lot of trouble during launching app such as TotalFinder, XtraFinder, CleanMyMac,…

Look at the following steps to disable System Integrity Protection (SIP) from MacOS Mojave, High Sierra, Sierra, Mavericks and El Capitan
1./ Reboot your mac and keep holding Command + R keys to boot into Recovery mode.
2./ From the Recovery mode screen, choose Terminal

  • Enter the following command line, you temporarily disable SIP (SIP will be re-activated after the next reboot).

csrutil enable --without debug

  • The following command will disable SIP Permanently.

csrutil disable

After all, type “reboot” and hit the Enter key to restart your Mac.

In the case if you want to re-activate SIP, use the following.

csrutil clear hoặc csrutil enable
